It's about an inch from the top of the cap to the bottom of the vial.

You said you use it to make necklaces? How do you attach it to the necklace? Does it have a hole for the chain?

It has a small hole in the cap. I usually attach a jump ring that is bigger to that. I can include a jump ring to make it easier to attach to a necklace.
