Pitched a NO HITTER on September 4th, 1993. Won the Golden Spikes Award in 1987. Participated in the Olympic games of 1988 in Seoul. Pan American Games in 1987 at Indianapolis. Baseball World Cup in Rome 1988.
Jim played Baseball in the Major Leagues despite having been born without a right hand. When preparing to pitch the ball, Abbott would rest his mitt on the end of his right forearm. After releasing the ball, he would quickly slip his hand into the mitt, usually in time to field any balls that a two handed pitcher would be able to field. Then he would secure the mitt between his right forearm and torso, slip his hand out of the mitt, and remove the ball from the mitt, usually in time to throw out the runner at first or sometimes even start a double play. Teams often tried to exploit his weakness by bunting, but this tactic didn't work well against him.
I am offering this collection with NO MINIMUM starting bid. Totally at risk, to the highest bidder. Have fun ! I buy, sell and trade. They call me the Sultan of Swap.
