The listing, Micky Mantle Autographed 8x10 photo!! WOW!! has ended.
Here is a 8x10 high gloss autographed photo by Micky Mantle. This item is one of the many autographed photos in my collection. I became interested in autographed photos around 5-7 years ago and built up respectable collection of original (w/ COA) and Fascimile autographs of celebrities in sports and entertainment. I eventually became uninterested in them after becoming very interested in antiques. I am now selling off all my orgininal and facsimile autographs. This Micky Mantle autograph is a Fascimile, not an original. It is a high quality reprint in a 8x10 high gloss photo and is in excellent condition.
Questions & Comments
Why place autograph in the title when you even admit in description that it is a copy of an autograph and not the real deal. Not that it is not cool. It is cool, but autograph?
it is an autographed photo, weather its an original or a reprint its still called an autogaph sorry if you disagree, but it seems like symentics to me. I stated in the description so I'm not trying to lie to anyone
Autographed means that its physically signed by the individual. This is not autographed...its no more than a printed photo. Title is misleading and you know what you were doing when you placed it up here for auction. Plus Listia rules prohibit listing stuff as "autographed" without verification.
reguardless he says has a C.O.A. and an autograph is a signature reguardless he never stated that it was personally autographed ans u said u must have read the description people he says it a copy so wheres the lie there if you dont understand his discription youre obviously not a collectoer yourself 70 to 80 of signatures are reprints and if you collect cards and you look up such as donruss thay have autograph cards that are copies and thats what they ar listed as in price guides the only difference is the value between actual and copy if you people wanna be collectoes learn the facts this is a good item may not be personal auto but is a reprint and not a forged your welcome xnxphene lol i thinke there are to many people out there who just look at items to nag about that they think are right but really dont know crap how much would like for a GIN price and free ship
Thanks a ton for your support!!! and even more so for explaining what the definition of an autograph really is, vjw0307 just seems to want to nag at me for some reason, don't know why. But I appreciate members like you stepping in and helping me out!
"Facsimile autograph" means that the person did NOT sign the photograph, it is a copy of the autograph as generated by a printer/copy machine. The photo itself is pretty cool, and I would have bid a couple hundred for the picture ... but I hope no one is bidding thinking that The Mick actually signed this.
your entitiled to your opinion and remarks about my auction, but I think jeremybarrett81 comment explained it best. I think your wrong, but your entitled to that opinion and I wont argue over it with you.
Actually both sides are right and wrong. Most times on ebay they advertise the Fascimile autographed photos as Preprint or Reprint autograph photos. Preprint autographs are more of a decorative piece that carry very little value compared to a personally signed photo. It's a very nice piece though and being a Yankee fan i'd definitely hang it up on my wall and just tell people it's authentic if they ask lol.
