I have to be honest with you.......I don't play this "fanning back and forth game". I agree with Listia, in that a fan should be EARNED. Earned by listing good things, free shipping when practical, responding to questions, and being generally respectful of members. THAT was the whole intent of the fan business. Somehow, it got out of control. You can look at listing after listing, and you'll see pages and pages of nothing but "fanned and watching...fan me back", AND...they aren't bidding. They have no intention of bidding. I would also be willing to bet that they aren't even watching it. They're just "collecting" fans. Because of this, it has no meaning any longer. Oh, look....this person has 2000 fans! Uuuuuh, so what? I can see examples of this all over the place. A guy has been a member of Listia for SIX days, and has 347 fans......and, hasn't listed any auctions, nor won any auctions. What does that tell you? It's become a joke! Some people will say...what's the big deal? It doesn't hurt anything. Well....while that may be true....it's the PRINCIPLE of the thing. Our society has fewer and fewer principles...and that's such a shame! I've been a member here since shortly after they began, going on 2 years, and I've fanned 24 people....because they EARNED it. Sorry for the "dissertation", but I feel it needed to be said. Nothing against YOU at all.
