dont you need a cartrige for it to work? I thought each book is paired with a cartrige.. I have one of these as well.. they are wonderful..

This is the book that it comes with and the info is pre-programed and don't need a cartridge but you can buy more book and cartridge sets . Just like a video game system you buy the ones you want
