This is the Nessie (Loch Ness Monster) ladle. It will stand in your pot and peer over the side. I had to use a stock photo to show it standing but the other photos are the item you will receive. The last one is next to an envelope to show proper size. I use mine in saucepans but it can be used in larger. But the are on the smaller side. It's about 9 1/2" high. The cup is about 3" in diameter. I like mine because it does stand in the pot rather than lean against the side. Dishwasher safe. Don't use in the microwave. Made of toughened nylon.
