My own sunflower variety harvested 2011 ,these need full sun and water everyday.Seedlings appear 1-2 weeks.You can harvest the seeds when flower is wilted just remove the whole flower from top of stem.Retrieve the seeds and dry them,it is easier to remove the seeds from the flower right away then dry because if you let the whole flower head dry with seeds in tact it is harder to remove them but still can be done.These seeds are for planting,not eating.Thanks for looking
