Description

The listing, DESERT ROSE (Adenium Obesum) ***Live Plant*** has ended.

Please look at all pictures to get an idea of what you are bidding on.
Winner will receive exactly the plant shown in the pictures.

I guess I finally met my match with this one. I simply cannot achieve success with this, so I am hoping someone will be able to nurse it back to health.

PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE LAST 2 PICTURES!!!
There was an area that had to be cut. The base it firm and sound, also please notice the new growth on the branches. As you can see, the plant is thriving.
Please ask any questions before bidding. I will not refund credits. Listia rules apply.
Thanks and BID TO WIN!!!

To my knowledge, no. As with many succulents, it can irritate the skin. I hope this helps a bit! Thanks for the comment.

Always like your auctions. And you know me and these desert roses. I have two of this
Plant. I can never get any seeds only blooms. The plants are beautiful but I had to repot until the roots were very shallow.

It looks like you have to much of the roots in the soil to me

Oklahoma is to cold for these plants. Needs lots of sun and hot dry weather.

I've heard from other enthusiasts the very same fact about this plant. I live in an inner urban center of Oklahoma City. My actual soil area is 6' x 9' And the winter's the temps are below freezing bunches of times. This last year when I got first, I had to keep it inside for 5 months!!!

I got the same plant most likely from the same vendor few months back. I am in hot dry climate and I kept it outside from the beginning, it looked dead all the time, and just like last week it started to show more leaves... And it was way over 100F for the entire week. I cannot tell if this was because of a temp spike or it just finally agreed to leave with me...hope 'he' will like it...LOL

I have read that temp is key with this. Here in OK it just doesn't stay hot for long periods. I know when the colder months arrive it would not do well indoors because of the temps. Good luck with yours!

Sam---I have one as well. I tried it in the house and almost babied it to death. Once I got disgusted with it dropping leaves and looking awful---I literally threw it out on the deck, and within a couple of weeks, it had all kinds of new leaves and was growing!! Working at the plant nursery, I asked my boss what the deal was---and he zeroed in on the fact that I was WAYYYYYY OVERWATERING. They WANT to be bone dry and you only water with a tiny little drink of water about ONCE A MONTH---explained they are called DESERT Rose, for a REASON. I was DROWNDING mine. Now we will see if I can get it to BLOOM--but YES---this one is definitely SAVEABLE!! GREAT AUCTION!!! Sandyb :o)

Thanks for that Sandy. I'm always interested in different plants and how they thrive. I tend to over-pamper (and water) some of my other succulents. When I am at my wits end with something, I stash them off some where I can neglect them. Works almost every time!
