Description

The listing, Slacker Portable G2 Internet Radio Player 4GB, 25 stations - Internet Radio ANYWHERE you are! has ended.

No subscription or monthly fee required!

The Slacker G2 Portable player lets you listen to the same great music you get on Slacker.com, but you can listen ANYWHERE, even places you don't have an internet connection. This is because the player copies the music to the device (caches) instead of streaming.

Go to Slacker.com and sign up for a free account, for an idea of what music you can listen to.

Then win this auction, and be able to listen to that same music anywhere you are. At school, at work, in the car, on the beach, etc.

Link this player to your free Slacker.com account, connect it to your Wi-Fi, and it will copy up to 25 stations worth of music locally to your device so you can listen anywhere. The only time you need to connect to WiFi is every 30 days to refresh the content on the player. You can also put your own music on this player like an iPod or other MP3 player.

Only getting rid of this since I use the Slacker Radio app (every day!) on my iPod now.

Auction includes:

Slacker player
Premium headphones (never used) with different sized tips
Wall charger
USB sync/charge cable
Case with belt clip
Dock (PDMI - also works with Dell Streak 5 and 7)
Original boxes, manuals, Slacker sticker

I will also include a code for a free month of Slacker Plus, which gives you the ability to create your own custom stations and to skip unlimited songs! (Free version is six skips per hour, per station which is plenty usually)

Happy bidding, and rock on!!

Would it be good if you only listen to talk radio since it doesn't stream?

I just checked, and it won't let you cache news or talk stations to the portable player. Only music. I guess it makes sense since if you only refresh every 30 days, it doesn't want you listening to "old" news. Thanks!

Then you need this for sure! On Slacker.com, if you go to "My Account" then "Add Devices," you can add this player's device ID and you choose which of your 25 stations to put on the player.

If you have a home WiFi network, will this radio update it's content automagically? or do you still have to do it manually?

Thanks

It won't automatically refresh - you will need to initiate a connect at least once a month to refresh the station content. Once you have entered the device ID (3rd picture from the end) on Slacker.com and decided which stations to "send to portable player," choose "connect" on the player and it connects to your WiFi (open, WEP, WPA, WPA2 are all fine) and copies new content to the player.

If you *don't* have WiFi, you can connect from an open hotspot, or refresh over USB when plugged into your PC..

Cheers!

As far as I could tell...Slacker.com is NOT Free???

Free as a bird! You can go sign up for an account now and get a feel for their free service! You can pay for premium features (like unlimited skips, playing any track you want on demand, etc.) but you won't need them with this portable player.
