Hi Listia Friends---Here today I have a small Mimosa tree seedling that I have grown in the greenhouse. I have a couple of these, and have decided to SHARE with my Listia friends.
This baby is about 4 months old, and as you can see in Photo #4, it is approximately 5" in height already---they grow quickly.
As for the ones I have grown for myself, I will be keeping them in POTS over this next winter---which you can do as well, and it will be fine. It CAN be planted directly into your yard as well. For ME---my husband goes a little NUTS with his mowing and this baby would be nothing but MULCH if I tried to plant it in the yard at this point. I figure it will have a better chance of surviving his "mowing" next year when it is TALLER---LOL

The Mimosa will grow and thrive planting it almost anywhere. They are a small tree, so they are great for smaller yards. If you choose to plant it directly into the yard now--be sure and get some good garden or potting soil, to mix with the dirt from the hole you dig!! REMEMBER---this little guy is a baby---and needs more nutrients than most plain dirt offers!! Just mix the dirt from the hole with the garden or potting soil you choose, and refill the hole with the mixture!!

This seedling will be sent to you, bare root, with enough soil and moisture to make the trip safely. POT NOT INCLUDED!!!
