Description

The listing, Horsetail Bamboo has ended.

Fast Growth Rate---this is the fall, they are dying back for the winter so it is a great time to dig up Each bunch will contain at least 3 roots, may be trimmed for shipping purposes
Deep green, jointed stems have an interesting Tropical look. The rush-like slender stems appear without leaves or flowers. Best used in containers, troughs or in contained ponds. Evergreen in warm climates. They can become invasive, so best if contained in some fashion.

I see the original listing was in the fall of last year when they were dying back for the winter. With it nearly summer, what is the growth on them now? Will they come with developed shoots or just roots only? Thanks so much.

they range from 6 to 15 inches now. I try and send the young ones, because they ship better. The roots are what matters, I sometimes send larger ones and bend the tops over and they may not come back up and die off but as long as the roots are good, you can be sure that within a few weeks they will put out new shoots and in no time at all will double what you get. They are very hardy and grows fast.

I thinned down mine this year to a small bunch in the middle of my barrel, and two months later the barrel is full of bamboo. So they will spread fairly fast. they are like any bamboo, it is really hard to kill once they get started, and they are not hard to start.

these only grow to about 3 ft tall. I would suggest unless you have a large acreage, of planting them into tubs or planters. That way you can control them
