The winner of this auction will receive the 1855 Large Cent shown in the attached photos. This coin may have been a ‘metal detector find’ because it has a lot of corrosion and surface pitting. It was probably buried in the earth at one time and exposed to acids in the soil. This can really do a number on coins depending on how many years they were buried. Although it is in poor condition you could use it to fill a hole in your collection until you find a better one. And you can get it cheap as the bidding will not probably go very high.
