The listing, 1965 Topps #436 DON ELSTON (Cubs) High # has ended.
1965 Topps high number cards (#371-598) were printed at considerably lower amounts than the lower numbered cards and are considered harder to find and more valuable than their low number counterparts.
Over a 9 season carer, Elton pitched all but one game in a Cubs uniform. Initially a "fifth starter", th Cubs converted Elston to all bullpen work in 1958, and the bet paid off. Leading the league in appearances in both 1958 and 1959 Elston played in both All Star games in 1959 (yes, there were two), and would record 49 wins and 64 saves in his career (saves were a rare statistic in the 1950s).
Nice card, should grade in excellent condition.
