The listing, Size 8 Semi-Precious Green Amethyst Gemstone and Sterling Silver Ring *BNWT* has ended.

This Auction is for a Size 8 Green Amethyst and .925 Stamped Sterling Silver Ring.(Please see ALL the pics to see the 925 stamp on the inside of the back of the band.) This has a 4.1 ctw Focal Stone Green Amethyst Gemstone with two smaller ones on each side it's focal point graduated with two being 1.88 ctw and the smallest two being .89 tcw. There are a total of Five Oval Brilliant Cut Green Amethyst. This is another remainder from our Brick and Mortar store so is of course BRAND NEW WITH TAGS! I am sorry for having to raise the starting bid but since the postage raise I have to be aware of compensation for shipping.

Wow, I have never seen such dark green amethyst! I have a light green and have seen a lot of pale green. Is this color rare?

Prasiolite is the actual name of what everyone calls Green Amethyst these days and while it is technically not Amethyst is what people recognize it at. If I had listed this as Prasiolite then most people would have not known what was being talked about. It is like Amethyst in that it is unique form of Crystal with the same make up as Amethyst and it is very rare in Nature. There is a GREAT deal of it that is Quartz that has been heat treated but what I have here is not heat treated and is the real thing. So just like with purple Amethyst that the darker the color (that which has less clear quartz in it) the more expensive the stone when it comes to Green Amethyst or Prasiolite is the opposite as the lighter the color the more expensive the stone. I have some Amazing pieces that I have set in some Pendants that I will hopefully have done to list in a few weeks that have some beautiful pieces of Green Amethyst or Prasiolite in them and they vary in the intensity of the greens. The pieces that I have I picked up several years ago from a mine in Brazil. I hope that you find the information helpful and if I can in anyway answer other questions for you.
