It takes 3 of those little round batteries like for hearing aides or watches.

Yes it does. I use to use it for my last job. I have not used it for about 3 years now.

I really could not tell you how much it runs for in stores now and back when I got it either since it was a few years ago. With my health issues my memory is starting to deteriorate.
