PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY AND COMPLETELY BEFORE BIDDING!!!!

This is a Canon PowerShot SD850 IS with digital Elph 8.0mp camera with some great features. I have taken some of my best macro photos with this little camera. As for all the technological specs for this camera visit the Canon website or the direct link below,
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/digital_cameras/powershot_sd_series/powershot_sd850_is#Specifications

This camera comes with a case, the battery and battery charger in the original box. It takes an SD memory card, (not included). I DO NOT have the usb cord for it. I would imagine that you could find one pretty cheap online...maybe even here on Listia! =)

Okay, you ask...what's the catch? Here is the catch, a few months ago I had taken some pictures. Pic#7 was taken with this camera and was sitting down reviewing what pics I had taken on the computer, forgetting that the camera was on my lap, apparently with it's lens still out. Well, I stood up and the camera fell about 24" to the floor and now the lens will not retract. It will power on, as seen in pic#5, but gives me an error message, as seen in pic#6. It will only keep the 'Canon' on the screen for a second, then goes to the error code...the lens sounds like it is trying to move further out or back in, but it doesn't do either. Like I said, as a photographer specializing in macro work, I loved this camera! I treated it well, (except for trying to kill it a few months ago). There is basically no cosmetic damage. I have owned this camera for over four years and got it new as a gift. I had a few friends/family look at it and no one had a clue how to get it to work right again. So I am hoping a Listian out there knows how to fix it or sadly for me, use it for parts. But since I can no longer use it...someone might be able to. Pics# 7, 8, 9, 10 were taken with this camera. Insurance and delivery confirmation are included in the $8 shipping fee.

so are you saying it won't stay on long enough to take pictures?

It only has the Canon screen on for a split second , then the error code screen comes on. The battery and/or power isn't the problem. You would be unable to take pictures with it unless the lens retracted, that's the problem.

I am sorry you didn't see the shipping price, but I state that you read thoroughly and completely the entire listing at the very top in caps.

I want everyone to know that the camera will be sent priority, with delivery confirmation AND insurance and that the $8 is exactly how much it will cost to ship.

The zoom doesn't work, as the lens does not retract. If someone knows how to fix the retract...the camera would work as well as the day I got it. Aside from the lens not retracting...cosmetically it's in almost new condition. I am hoping someone on here will know a quick fix for it and end up with a great little camera. As for the shipping...I would love to do free shipping like I used to, but finances dictate otherwise. Food on the table is more important that getting more credits here....I will have to sacrifice one for the other unfortunately. Up to par or not shouldn't be an issue. If someone is interested and really wants it, they will have read the description, asked any questions they may have, and if if it is still something they are interested in, then they will bid. If this is not something they are interested in because of the shipping price...then they can feel free to move on to another auction. Worst case scenario, the battery, battery charger, camera case, and camera parts are worth well over the $8 shipping price.
