I thought that priority gave tracking put pf the country?????

It does, but it doesn't. When you mail internationally, you don't get "tracking" like you normally do when you buy tracking for domestic mail. You get a Customs number, and it's that number they use to look it up, but once it leaves the country, USPS has no way to keep track of it, so it's never certain when (or if) something is delivered. The only service that can be guaranteed tracked and delivered is Global Express Guaranteed, and the post office will tell you this too. :)
I'm just not willing to take a chance on losing an item and the credits wondering IF something was really delivered to the appropriate address, person, etc, so I am very cautious about shipping out of the US. (Also, some countries have weird regulations about what can be 'imported' to there.)
