I purchased this item a few years ago on Etsy but need to do some serious destashing. It has been in a plastic bag since its purchase.

Found in ancient Egyptian tombs, this classic toy became known as Jacob'??s Ladder during puritan times when someone compared its cascading action to climbing a ladder. Thereafter, it was one of the few toys that puritan youngsters were allowed to play with on Sundays.

This artistic rendition actually works and will be a unique conversation piece. Why it works at all is a mystery to most of us. If someone with an engineering mind asks about it, tell them it is based on the principle of a double hinge. For all others who inquire, simply tell them it is magic! This edition of one has been signed by the artist.

Please note: While this is a toy, please remember that it is an artistic version. Although it is a sturdy, working version as well, it is not meant for rough handling by children, especially smaller children.
