These are not coins, so no they are not real gold. They are gold paper embossed to make the stamps really unique. If they were real gold, you would be buying them for the price I have them listed at - they would be many times that price.
The back isn't sticky any longer. It is under the plastic to hold it in place while I scan it. Do you want the stamps? There isn't any residue on the back from my scanning them. This is the usual method for doing the individual stamps I sell. Otherwise, I put them in the black sorters. I've been doing it for months with no problems or complaints.
Well I was considering them. But as a collector In just a bit picky with since areas I collect so had to ask. But nevermind, didn't mean to start problems.
You didn't cause any problems. I just try to answer as good as I can. I can't attest to whoever owned them before me. Best not to get them if you are in doubt. They are nice stamps and would be nice in anyone's collection. I know my dad loved these types of stamps, but his went with the big auction sale of all his books for a mere pittance. I got really taken when I sold them and I regret it so much. I could have shared his great stamps with my friends here on Listia, not to a greedy "collector". Such a great loss.
