So, is your house new or 'new to you'? And were all of the keys together in the box or were they scattered throughout the vicinity? I am very curious about old 'stuff' and always like the history of things that I am considering 'buying'. The keys are beautiful! Would love to hear the stories that they could tell!

A lock smith perhaps?? I have a great interest in things like this. We live on an old farm and my children are always bringing me 'treasures' from the barn and the sow house etc. We have several old glass bottles. Some of which will be finding there way on here soon. lol Don't have much interest in old wine and liquor bottles. But I have quite a few. Along with some for tonic and pepsin and such like. Those I will keep. Love, love love this auction!!!

Yes, I know. I have plenty that I am having to get rid of. But the funny thing is, the things I am moving out seem to take up so much room and collect so much dust. Yet I see things like this on here and I know it won't take up much room, but collect dust still. Argh! Aren't we humans just nuts?!?!
What else was in the box? Just curious as it may give insight into the former owners. We certainly have gotten insight into the lives of the former owners of this place! Wow! I just wonder how many liquor bottles were hauled away before we got here... And how many more we are going to find. All of the old neighbors had told us that the former owner had a drinking problem. But then, we also found his mother's size 4 shoes in the attic. Probably from the 30's. Beauties they are! And postcards and such.

A spoon.... maybe a blacksmith then?? I researched the entire history of our home and actually found the last survivor of the family that settled this farm. He was actually born on the place in a log cabin and then later helped to build the current house. He had written an autobiography and we have a copy now. I am not sure if he is still living as that has been a few years and he was rrreeeeaallyyy old! Ah! gotta love that history!
