Well, it contains some mature themes about death, the meaning of life, has some swear words, sexual dialogue and a non-explicit sex scene. Some people rate it at PG-13, saying it should definitely be for teens and older, but a friend said her 12-year-old read it and was fine with it. It's really your call as to what you feel your 11-year-old can handle....
