They were given to me by a friend in a tub of clothes & toys to sell. They appear new (but they were not in any packaging so I have no idea what age they are for). The shapes seem machine cut, so I don't think they were handmade. The knots appears tight and doesn't look like they were ever undone. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
