It does automatically unfold with the touch of a button, and the light then comes on. Its very neat. !!

Its very cute too like it has a face or a body! LOL. I think robots are cool, and when I saw this light I thought robotic. You dont have to do a think to unfold it but click open. The light can be moved tho, to be adjusted on just the right spot.
