North American Aviation P-51 Mustang and Douglas Aircraft Company C-47 Skytrain in background, Both of these aircraft were flown by the "Gophers" 133rd Fighter-Interceptor Group- 109th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron. I helped with the restoration of these two aircraft. I took this photo on 08/27/200 at Minnesota Air National Guard Museum on the Minnesota Air National Guard Base at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in Minnesota. Over the last 28 years, I have been a volunteer at The Minnesota Air National Guard Museum. The Museum has been in existence for 31 years. I of one of three volunteers who have been around the museum for more than 25 years. I was never active duty military due to my asthma. I have studied aviation and military history for the last 40 + years since I was a freshman at a military high school U.S. Army JROTC. 99.9% of our volunteers are retired military and they consider me to be a walking encyclopedia.
