This is a thin die cut tool by Darice that I call "Christmas Die Cut tool." This is a metal die and is new in package. The approximate die size is not quite 2 1/2 inches for the larger poinsetta and about 2 inches for the smaller poinsetta. So, this is a fairly large die cut tool for the larger poinsetta. You could probably layer this item for more of a 3-D effect.It's a nice size for some of the larger cards or for use while scrapbooking. This die cut tool is great for cutting, embossing, or to use as a stencil.The die cut tool is new.

There is a photo on the back that is a cutting guide and the manufacturer photo includes the words "provocraft" and "cuttlebug" for the platform and plates. You basically need to put it in between some plates. Some thin die cut tools work best with a rubber mat and a metal shim. You can purchase a metal shim online or even cheaper if you go to a hardware store and have them cut one for you to fit your machine. If you choose this option, I strongly urge you to file down the corners of the shim for safety reasons.This tool can be used in most popular die cut machines (just not the electric such as the cricut.

If you are having difficulties with your images not showing up crisply, then it may be because you are not using a metal shim.
