This is a cord winder, you wrap the cord up inside and leave out the parts you need hanging out. I use mine for the mouse cord. It's great to have that cord out of the way. it's made out of soft rubber.

Ur to sweet. This does work very nicely tho. I find that it makes it last longer cuz it's all wound up to the length you need :-)

How big around is this? I could possibly use it to wind my usb cord up with to leave it in my purse. Do you think that would be feasible?

it's 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 " I'm not sure if that would work, is the cord really long and thick ?

It's a regular usb charging cord. About 3' long and a couple of millimeters thick.
