Measures a wee bit over 1/2 inch, woven silk in a burgundy or maroon color.Smoke free home (now), not sure about many years ago, but no odor I can note. Add some narrow lace for a nice look too! Part of the old label still was on the spool. Perhaps a nice hemming binder, trim for pillows, making bows for hair, or framing on cards. Nice on dresses, use for strengthening edges, quilting, even embroidery. Nice vintage sewing fabric trim!
