Hello I do gold recovery for a hobby so I'm interested in gold plate items mainly. However, since I'm just retrieving the gold from items I come across I don't care if they are broken in fact I prefer it that way. If you happen to have an abundance of maybe left over scrap then I'd be interested in buying it from you with my points. Thanks

Sorry, I don't have anything like that. How on EARTH do you recover gold from gold plate? I would think the plating would have such minimal gold in it, it wouldn't be worth it!

It's not worth it unless you have lots of it. It takes roughly 47 cell phones to get a gram lol it's certainly not something to depend on for your sole income, but you make acid that eats away the base metal and not the gold

Are the pins you are selling gold plate?

They are "gold plate" but I'm not sure how much real gold is on them. They are a very bright color gold. Honestly, I'm not sure what the current gold color findings are made of. They must have some gold in them, but I don't really know.

They certainly LOOK like gold plate, but I don't want to be dishonest and say that I know for sure.

So, for reclamation, I wouldn't count on them being worth anything in terms of the gold.
