Description

The listing, Dwarf Peach Tree Seed has ended.

This is a tester auction to see if people are interested.

I am offering one pit from one of my dwarf trees. This is a Dwarf Peach Tree. These grow about 4 to 6 feet tall. They are self pollinating so you will get fruit. They grow outdoors in zones 5 to 8. However due to their size, they make good container plants and can be brought indoors for the winters.

This was just picked off my tree when I ate a peach. So it is a fresh seed.

What is roughly the width that this will grow to?

Depending on the height. I have one that is only 3 feet tall and 3 feet across. Others are 5-6 feet tall and about the same across.

How long does it take to grow & bear fruit?

You should get fruit by the third year. That really depends on the climate along with the care the tree gets.

Can you keep them in a big flower pot so you can move them around

I wouldn't put them in a flower pot. You would need something larger and deeper for the roots, maybe a whiskey barrel? Otherwise it won't get very big and won't fruit. It needs some depth.

Ok just asking I put my tomato plants in pots so I can move them around to keep them in in the sun a good bit
Aug 23rd, 2015 at 12:00:32 PM PDT by
Original
You could do that in the beginning. However tomatoes are just a plant. This is an actual tree.

Jacquesmccalla the seeds look like regular peach tree seeds but a bit smaller. Is that what you are asking?

kelliedkeesecker the dwarf tree will grow 4-5 feet tall and about the same width. Id you try to grow it in a pot, it will grow. It may even put out a small amount of fruit. However I recommend putting it in the ground once it is at least a foot or 2 tall.

It could be in a pot but in a few years it will need to be in the ground. Hope that helps.

Did You grow the tree from a pit, or bought it as a baby tree?

I highly doubt a pit would produce the same tree, because Dwarf trees are usually grafted on to a different Rootstock.

I have tried it. I have one that is 3 feet tall and not looking to grow much bigger. It may just be a slow grower though. All I can do is wait it out to see.

I've had no problems with my seeds. However if you study any thing plant you will find the aa bb will produce aa bb ab ab so it can and will likely produce dwarf.
