thats what I am saying, not to mention the front of the card says it and the back of the card definitely states the obvious, but it is an auto/autograph and obviously it was done by a blue sharpie/pen so auto pen?lol

Duke signed sheets upon sheets of stickers before he died. These are sticker autographs. Vincent you're obviously ignorant of the card industry today and that's ok. But please don't try to speak about stuff you have no knowledge of. Basically Topps has sheets of these stickers and slaps them on cards every year until they run out.

What does it mean by "replacement auto"
Jul 20th, 2015 at 1:27:15 PM PDT by
Original
these were replacements for the redemptions that you sent in,so a card that you sent in 6 months ago or a year ago, they no lnger have any of,they made these cards of various players just for redemption replacement,so you cant pull these cards from a pack, which is great because normally I get a player of way lesser collectibillity or value

I've been dealing with cards, both as a store owner and show dealer for 25 years and there is no doubt in my mind this is a legitimate autograph signed by Duke. He signed a lot of these stickers for Topps and they've been randomly placed on new cards for years now, even before he passed away. Actually, I just came in from a show today and I saw a new 2015 card with a sticker auto on it of him. The sticker auto on the one I saw today from new product isn't as good as the one on the one Tatt has up now but it's still legit. If any one has any questions or issues about this card, maybe they should do a little research before commenting. REAL collectors know how the card industry and companies work these days.

thanks tj,and you can definitely tell the difference of when he was signing when he was healthy and younger and the newer stuff

Snider had signed a bunch through Topps before passing..... this card should be worth more, but most collectors are for current guys and not the true legendary players of years' past. It takes 5 seconds for someone to bash a reputation, but it takes a lifetime to build it..... I wouldn't let the ramblings of one ill informed guy ruin your mood or your listings.... sweating the idiocy only will cause ya stress... this is a nice piece!

I was supposed to get Jose Bautista/Edwin Encarnacion 2014 Gypsy Queen dual auto relic numbered to ten through a redemption. My replacement card was a 2012 Topps auto bat card of Molitor numbered to a measly 10.

I was supposed to get a Tom Glavine Triple Threads auto jumbo unity relic via a redemption. Topps sent me a Dustin Pedroia Triple Threads.

to try and desmudge someones auction is one thing, but to reach out to actual bidders going to them personally to downplay an auction is not only seriously frowned upon but shows the integrity of this person,he showed no proof and are knowledge of the claim he made

richard, look at the second picture, both the front and back of this card say what you need to know, certified autograph issue,it is an sticker auto,he did these before 2013 obviously, and if you want to read up on it theres a link below, cant believe I even have to validate this, because of some copy and paste comment ranger

I have also recived some of these "replacement" autos and relics, while i do not agree with what topps does, this card is totally legit. the only thing i do differently with these is i never take the topps sticker off the top loader i get them in.

I thought it was just me,but I have saw several of these cards, and none were in toploader, and sealed with topps sticker, thought they might have skipped it on this card when I recieved it,I dont even like recieving topps redemptions anymore, unless its a super rare card, they take to long to redeem,I am still waiting on a '13 triple threads dave stewart jersey.auto #d to 9

I have a 500 IQ in the baseball card world. This legendary baseball card collector is one of the top ten.

Every Topps autograph MUST be signed in front of a Topps representative. This insures that every Topps autograph is genuine.

There are two kinds of autographs, on card and sticker.

Whoever thinks that this autograph is fake, has an IQ lower then empty beer cup.

Fleer asked Willie Stargell to sign some Greats of The Game cards. Stargell died before he could sign. Fleer issued replacement jersey cards.

I havent blocked him just yet, waiting to see if I he responds with a good explanation as to why when I have no quarrels and or dealings with him,and he mainly bids on cds and vinyl, and lists comic books why he would single me out,I have an idea of what it could pertain to,since its so random, come on guy just chill out,was it really that serious that you felt the need to message actual bidders to down play this card and my auction?

Duke couldn't have signed this card as he died in 2011, so it has to be an auto pen signiture, sorry to burst your bubble, have a great day!
Jul 25th, 2015 at 6:29:21 AM PDT by
Original
you definitely didnt burst my bubble, lol, because this is a legit auto, but you did make yourself look like a wikipedia commenter, which has nothing to do with this listing, topps has been doing redemption replacements before 2013,this was just used for 2013,if you have ever won a redemption and recieved a different card you would know that,I will not have a debate with you on my auction its rude and disrespectful

I prefer the older stars of yesteryear and yesterday. I grew up watching Brett, Fisk, Rickey Henderson, Reggie et all. I still prefer the legends over the stars of today. Very few can match my pure baseball knowledge.

Duke Snider's roommate during his Dodgers' tenure was Carl Erskine.

The Boys of Summer were formed in the 1940s. Reese, Robinson, Hodges, Snider, Campy, et all debuted in the 1940s while their hated rivals, the Giants were formed in the early 1950s.

That is why most of 1951 and 1954 Giants are still alive and the 1947 and 1949 Dodgers have passed on.
