Dark Opal Basil is popular sweet basil with regal, purple-black glossy foliage and pale pink flowers and a delicious aroma. The beautiful eye catching purple leaves get darker as the basil plant matures. Aside from being a colorful garden plant Opal Basil is a very high quality basil, with a degree of licorice flavor, perfect for culinary use in any dish.

Sun: Full Sun tolerant, Partial Shade
Height: 12 to 18 Inches
Spread: up to 8 inches
Uses: Borders, Edging, Seasoning & garnish
Sowing: Sow seeds directly in the garden after the last frost. When seedlings are about 3 inches tall, thin them to 8 inches apart. Germination: 5 - 10 Days
Time till Harvest: Approximately 80 days
Care: This tender perennial is usually grown as an annual but can be successfully grown indoors throughout the year.
