As far as hubby and I are concerned we make very sturdy pieces. However if you choose to use it has a sling shot or swing it and use it as a personal security system then all bets are off =) I have this exact same design for myself and have about 10 of them all with different stones and I have been wearing them for 15 years and the only one that EVER broke was because I bent over a counter and the pendant swung forward and hit the counter and stone shattered. So I do believe it is a well made piece and my hubby and have even come up with a non toxic proprietary glue so that everything about the piece is natural. Most glue's on the market that are strong enough to hold a stone like this are VERY Toxic until dried but even then I don't really trust them. So I do digress and will say that for us making jewelry pieces as a way for people to get the benefits of the different stones is a labor of Love and a passion and we are not making Chinese junk we actually make pieces with the hope that some day you can give it to your children. We are very opposed to our "throw away" society in which NOTHING is built to last. So we are trying to make things that become family heirlooms.
