The Venus Flytrap is truly an amazing plant. They are actually carnivorous, meaning they eat living things. Nature never fails to absolutely baffle me, and show me something even more amazing every day. The Venus Flytrap is no exceptions. These are another one of natures incredible inventions, that will show you just how crafty and brilliant mother nature is.

Thomas Jefferson & Charles Darwin both loved these plants.
It is said these plants glow BLUE!
The Venus Flytrap Is The Official “State Carnivorous Plant” Of North Carolina.
The lobes of Venus flytrap's trap can close in less than 0.1 seconds!
It usually takes around 10 days for a trap of Venus flytrap to digest a single prey.
The trapping mechanism of Venus flytrap is so sensitive that it can easily differentiate between a living prey and non-prey stimuli, such as falling leaves or raindrops.
Each flytrap can consume about 4 to 6 preys, after which the trap dies.

I think I understand your question and will attempt to answer based on the info I was given...these guys can end up looking alike or different because the seeds are mixed and/or...can't think of the word they used....gosh! My seeds are in the germination process so I haven't seen them yet....the pics are based on my supplier's experience and his clients. :)

Just some quick growing info: do not use any potting soil or any soil with nutrients use things like spagnum moss or peat moss and for water use distilled or reverse osmosis water oh and one other thing these take 3 to 5 years to get to a good size and they need to go dormant through the winter

That particular trap dies but from what I have read, it will regrow and produce another. :)

What do the seeds look like? Are they big or little? I'm good with seeds in a garden but not flowers! Makes no sense!! Lol!! F&W may bid!! Good luck!! :)

It's agents the law in North Carolina to own a Venus fly trap they r protected here

Nope, my uncle who is a police chief in NC sent me info when the "poaching" law went to effect. They actually encourage planting from seeds because they ARE protected. He sent me the laws in writing but they are too long to post here. Here are some links for further education:
