Questions & Comments
The Mosquito was originally designed to be a bomber but due to it's high speed it was also used as a fighter along with the Hurricane and Spitfires. The Swordfish was an aircraft developed before WWII for use on Royal Navy aircraft carriers. Although no match for German fighters, far out at sea it could do damage to German vessels. Swordfish planes attacked the German battleship Bismarck and succeeded in hitting the rudder leaving the German ship being only able to travel in a large circle which it did until the Royal Navy showed up and sank it.
Herman Goering, head of the German Air Force ask his leading ace he could use to defeat the British RAF and he would see to it that he got what he would need. The German ace said, "A squadron of Spitfires!" Goering was not amused!
