An NCAA record setter in return yardage while at UNC, Tate was the New England Patriots 3rd round pick in 2009. After missing most of his rookie season with injuries, Tate would return two kicks for touchdowns in 2010 as well as pulling down 24 passes for another 3 touchdowns. He drew the attention of the Cincinnati Bengals, who snagged him in 2011, and he remains on their roster, having returned 126 punts and 127 kickoffs in his tenure there.
