The listing, 1967 SOUVENIR Colegio del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus ~ Iloilo City PHILIPPINES has ended.
Colegio del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus is a private, Catholic, institution of learning owned and administered by the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul located in Iloilo City, Philippines. They were recognized as a school, September 14, 1917.
This lovely golden threaded handkerchief or scarf is a souvenir of the school's Golden Jubilee in 1967. Actually it's too pretty for a hankie, and too small really for a scarf, but I didn't know what else to call it. It's in like new condition.
These were given as gifts to some of the sailors aboard the USS Douglas H. Fox, when they had a stop in Iloilo City, on their way to (or from) Viet Nam in 1968. It came with the additional three pages of information on the area.
It is still in the original folds, having just been stored in a box with a bunch of mementoes from the 60s. It was hard to keep it straight on my scanner top, as it kept sliding. Any black marks you may see on the scan are dings in my scanner top.
The scarf is pristine! It measures approximately 10-1/2" square, and I could not fit it entirely on my scanner top at one time. So I have scanned part, then the other part (you will have to stitch them together in your mind).
Would be lovely framed! Smoke-free home.
It will be shipped in a reinforced first class envelope which carries no tracking, so please be sure you are in agreement with that method of shipping before you bid.
