FREE: magnificent old gilt frame w/ mirror

This is a truly magnificent old gilt frame with a small mirror in the center. It looks like it is two layers of frame, although it has been carved from one piece.

This is old and I believe it was made to look even older because when it came to me as a new piece, it had "built-in" cracks - which turned out to NOT really be cracks . . . it's just made that way to look even older. I've tried to show this in the photos & I hope I'm being clear about this.

One of the photos shows the back, which has on it a label that says "Carvers and Gilders, Picture Makers & Restorers, England, beveled glass, old frames regilded." The mirror back is sealed with duct tape, of all things! I really don't know what to make of this but all evidence points to it being really old! And made to look even older. There are places where there is some red color on the gilt - I don't quite know what that means, either, unless it's meant to look as though the gilt wore off in places and red underneath is showing.

In any case, the overall effect of this piece is really magnificent! Dramatic!

The mirror in the center is approximately 3" x 2 1/2" and the outside dimensions of the large frame are approximately 11 3/4" x 10 3/4" - the entire frame is approximately 1 1/2" thick.
