The listing, War of 1812 Royal Artillery Cuff Button has ended.
I aquired this little Gem from a fellow detectorist who dug this in Vermont. I wish I could remember more of the details he gave. Anyways, it supposedly originated at an encampment site he had found that dated to the period. I'm no button expert myself but I have seen similar but not identical buttons. It may be rare, honestly not sure. It is definitely a cool piece of militaria. It deserves a spot on display in someone's collection. The shank is gone (I suspect this may have been a two piece button as the metals certainly have not weathered the toll of time equally). It is definitely Artillery with its 3 Cannons and the Crown leads me to believe it's British in origin. I welcome any information my fellow Listians and collectors could add. Free Shipping in U.S. and possibly parts of Canada (I've got to evaluate shipping cost before I commit myself to that) . Happy bidding!
