Bikers started gathering at Daytona's sandy beaches since January 24, 1937 - the date of the inaugural running of the Daytona 200. The last year bikers raced on the beach was 1960.

Bike Week events continue to attract thousands of bikers to the Daytona Beach and surrounding areas, to visit and participate in a variety of activities.
