Incredible auction. I am torn between telling everyone that I know about this must see auction and not telling a soul. Thank you for sharing this treasure and all that it manifests through teaching. F&W&B thINKpeACE
Celluloid when burned with hot pin smells like burnt feathers and usually has some grain in it but not always. Plastic is a petroleum product and smells kinda like burned rubber when a hot pin is stuck into it. The other early material you could encounter is Bakelite. Pls look in the dictionary for an explanation. Too long for description here.
based upon what you just said and what i have to go by ( i have to pins thare celluliod) i used a magnifing glass and they all looked the same they all had grains running thru them . so they are celluloid. thanks for the new knowledge : )
