Description

The listing, Own a piece of history! 2 Americans in ‘Giant Leap For Mankind’ has ended.

This is an original (NOT a reproduction) news paper from July 21, 1969, printed just hours after America landed on the moon! It’s the full news paper, not just the front page.

The front page headlines read as follows:
•Man Takes Toehold on Heavens
•Americans Rub Moon Dust Out – Prepare for home take off
•A Great Day for America – Flag Placed on Moon
•Armstrong, Aldrin Explore Moon; Set To Return Home
•Landing On Moon Praised By World
•Luna 15 Lands On the Moon
•Astronauts Walk On Lunar Surface, Collect Soil Samples, Plant US Flag in Historic Journey
•Reactions To Moon Landing, Walk The Same Here As Everywhere Else: Unbelieveable, Fantastic, Great

The front page photo captions are
•Neil A Armstrong – First To Step On the Moon
•Edwin Aldrin – Follows Armstrong
•Stays Behind – Mike Collins, above, stayed in the Command Module while Armstrong and Aldrin walked on the moon. Collins has been circling the moon in the Apollo 11 command shi9p and is scheduled to rendezvous with his buddies today.
•Moon Souvenirs –Edwin Aldrin and Neil Armstrong shown above, scooped up souvenirs in the form of rock and soil after leaving their Landing Module on the Moon last night.
•A large drawing depicting the Flag planting
•And a picture of the moon with Apollo Eleven (spelled out in a classic 60’s font)
The newspaper itself is 36 pages total and has a yellow patina.
There is more about the moon landing on other pages.
The paper is in great shape with NO rips or tears. It has been folded for 40 plus years and you can see where the paper has been bent all that time but it flattens out nicely. (The new owner may want to press it under glass until it relaxes). Someone wrote the name “Chris” in the upper right corner. I can only guess he was the original owner.
It will be carefully packaged and shipped with insurance to the new owner. AND Shipping is FREE!!!
Hurry and get your bids in! Don’t miss your chance to own this piece of history!

This is the only one I have and I'm downsizing before I move. I hope it gets a home where it will be taken care of. Sounds like you or your sister would be a perfect new owner. Good Luck bidding!

I'll be moving to a much smaller place soon and I'm thinning out my stuff. Otherwise it would sit in storage and you know what happens to newspapers in storage facilities. I'd hate for it to become mouse bedding!
