The listing, Vintage Swiss Entredeux Heirloom Insertion LACE 1800s has ended.
From my mother's (89) grandmother's (deceased) lace stash, I will part with 1 yard of this ( have only 2) this heirloom insertion lace, made in Switzerland can be adorned with beads and 1/2 inch ribbon or nothing. Cotton. Yellowed with age in some areas , no stains. Appears off white or ecru. used for Christening gowns, girls dresses, nighties., lingerie. Great GM lived in Germany and Switzerland near the Swiss Alps in the late 1800s and early 1900s , then moved to live in the Bronx. The lace part is between 5/8 and 3/4 inch wide and the entire piece is 1-1/4 inch wide. Painstakingly made. A true piece of textile and fashion history. Smoke free homes all these years. Well kept and stored. Most you see now has 1-2 rows of insertion holes, this has several in a beautiful design too! Awesome framed!
