This is for WiFi through USB if you want to use on a desktop our laptop it comes with a disc to install software so any computer or laptop can get WiFi great if WiFi goes out on laptops

I was talking about the person that wanted to know if it can be used as a wifi hotspot. it does not work as a hotspot. blue tooth lets you connect cell phone to a computer that has blue tooth.
