@Caleb65 I believe you are mistaken in your statement that all Shure Microphones include a cable, as you can buy it both ways with or without a cable, and with the cable costs more. Don't believe me? go to BestBuy/GuitarCenter (Both certified re-seller's of Shure Microphones) and search for Shure SM58 and SM57 (which by the way are the most used in today's Professional live music industry) you'll see they actually sell them separately.

No, just the mic, with XLR output. Professional mics don't usually include a cable.

Most professional mics actually DO include the cable. VOX & Shure are the two most used microphones in the professional music industry. All Shure & VOX mics come with a cable.

True, some of the cheaper "professional" mics do come with a cable, but most of the time they are of cheap quality... most of which are xlr to 1/4 inch which is not considered as "professional" as xlr to xlr.

None of the Best Buys in my area have any microphones, at least from the ones I have been to. And as for Guitar Center, I've only had the option of purchasing them with the cable. I'm not saying that you are wrong, I'm just saying that from my experiences I have never had to purchase a mic without a cable.

You can do a search online to find this information out. When we work in the recording studios, all mics, and cables are bought and sold separately, and we would rarely use a XLR to 1/4 Inch Cable, for recording or live performance, anyway because the quality is very low.:)
