Description

The listing, Canon PowerShot S30 Point and Shoot, 3.2 Mp has ended.

Used: This item has been used previously. It has some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended. Let's face it, it's pretty much a dinosaur. But it's also a workhorse. 3.2 megapixels for a Canon is plenty. And don't we all know how to sharpen a picture with Photoshop or some other photo software? Come on now, You Camera Jigglers.... you know who you are? There is, however, the hole on the bottom to screw in a tripod. (a really good idea for portraits). It comes with a Canon battery charger, One Canon battery and 128 mb Compact Flash Card.. . and, shoot, I'll thrown in a USB to mini-usb cord for transferring pics, too. Some people's computers don't have a built-in card adapter, like mine.
I am charging the battery as I write this.
Until I test it, it is sold "as is"
When it is tested, I will post the results.
Thank you for your patience and for
considering this item.
Happy bidding.

Yes.... Canons are great cameras... even though there are AA battery chargers (I even have a similar PowerShot that takes AA's), these batteries....seem to hold a charge longer, they don't get lost or reappropriated to remotes or keyboards/mice, and they're pretty cheap on Ebay. Thanks for checking out my auctions....

Oh this is a highly rated classic. It takes some of the best pictures. I had the S40 model but dropped it accidentally. Hmmm I wonder if I still have all those extra batteries or if I dumped them. LoL.

This camera has 4.52 stars out of 5 from 337 users on dpreview

Tip: It is compatible with CF cards up to 2GB, so get a bigger compact flash card.

Yes, and get used to a camera that is construted as solid as a Hummer. No, I take that back. This would probably survive and Iraqi IED much better. Great cmaera to send to our servicemen overseas then, I suppose.

TEST RESULTS:
It's a good news bad news day, folks.
First the BAD news...
The LED Screen is out...BLACK.
I don't know what has caused it, but given that this is a free camera, that's not the wore that could happen.
GOOD NEWS...
Not only did the battery take a charge, but I was able to snap some pics that I am willing to share if you would like to send a private email address for them to go to. Please do not post your private email address here.
If the winner is too discouraged about the LCD screen and wishes their credits returned, they need to say so before it is shipped....so I can reverse the auction, return their credits, update the discription, and relist.

DISPLAY button can turn the LCD screen on/off. Did you turn off display by mistake?

Well, as a former pro photographer, I say...Go for It! It is a joyful way to spend some quality time with others or just having a meditative time with nature. I put up another Canon, which ends before this one. It comes with loads of extras and is a great little camera in its own right. The auction number for that one is 2376075. Best of luck to you.

Don't be scared off by the sliding door (techniquely advanced camera lens-cover). Unlike the old school camera lens-covers, you can't shoot pictures with the door closed. LOL. And it does serve the same pupose of protecting the lens, as well.
