With its rapid, robust growth, crimson clover provides early spring nitrogen for full-season crops. Rapid fall growth, or summer growth in cool areas, also makes it a top choice for short-rotation niches as a weed suppressing green manure.

Popular as a staple forage and roadside cover crop throughout the Southeast, crimson clover is gaining increased recognition as a versatile summer-annual cover in colder regions.

Its spectacular beauty when flowering keeps it visible even in a mix with other flowering legumes, a common use in California nut groves and orchards. In Michigan, it is used successfully between rows of blueberries.

May I ask you, how well do they do if planted in an area where thistle thorns are trying to overrun my grass on the west side of my fence. I am trying to find something to handle that. I can pull the thorns carefully out as they grow if I can climb over to it. What do you think? I have a large area for it to grow, and plenty of deer around me too.

I am not sure how these will do vs. Thistle because both are very hardy tough growers! But I do know that they will do very well in your area.

Oh f/w and probably would have to come across a lot more than 10 seeds tho. I live right next to Lake Erie! It is literally less than a block away and the overflow goes in the creek on that side too. We do have a large amount of marshland, it goes all around us so we are sort of stuck if it floods LoL! No flooding tho but there are stupid kids who run loose and light one side or the other on fire about every 3 years. That is when I am truly stuck LoL!
