What is slab & cab?

A Slab is a thin slice if rock, removed from a larger piece, then polished up to form a piece for display or use in jewelry. A cab refers to a cabochon, which is a gem that is not faceted, usually in the shape of a dome, with a flat backside that is mounted using a bezel, on either a ring, bracelet or pendant, so that the dome is exposed. So, in this case, when I say 'for slab & cab' I mean that the amazonite can be sliced thin to make slabs, or can be sliced thicker then shaped into a cabochon or pillow shape for mounting.
