50 Year-OId VINTAGE (circa 1964) First Communion Dress & Slip Lace & Embroidery Needs TLC Restoration Project
This was mine, I am 57, worn when I made my First Communion back when I was 7 years-old, in Lowell, Massachusetts. My mother had it made by someone local, of course I don't know who. It has many issues, not the least of which is seams are coming apart, the tie has been pulled out where it is stitched, the slip is ripped, seems like a lot of tears and rips is missing some buttons and some yellow staining is evident. I've taken lots of pics so you can see the condition for yourself. None of my children, or their children are interested in having this so I thought the perfect place to offer it would be here, on Listia, as there are so many talented sewers and creators on here. I just want it to go somewhere where it can be utilized; maybe as material for an antique doll dress, or something along those lines. Oh, and I was (am am) very short so it was hemmed up about 5 inches, on the dress and a few on the skirt, too. Measures approximately 13 inches pit to pit and 23" total length. There's a lot of gathering/gathered material there. Hope we find someone who can use this. God bless.
