Most people will not buy these with out knowing what number is on the bottom.
I know I wouldn't. I use to collect these and still have a few left. I have one that is 50 years old that belonged to my dad.

Trust has nothing to do with my question. You stated the Zippo is in its box, Zippo packaging changes from time to time and how it is packaged can sometimes tell one about when it was made is all.
