2nd book is Captain Invincible and the Space Shapes. This is a Mathstart level 2 book dealing with three-dimensional shapes. Is in a comic book format using different shapes to find their way back to earth.

What grade level are the books

It doesn't give a grade level. The 1st book's story counts up to 15. But it gives suggestions of how to go further such as "3 is more than 4". In my opinion, you could use it for kindergarten and go from there.

The 2nd book starts with matching shapes to get the spaceship back to earth. The book shows a square and you have to match it between a square and a triangle. Every couple pages adds a different shape; circle, Diamond, etc. I would think you could use it for 1st grade and progress.
